Activate your licence

Quantix is licensed per occupied physical CPU socket across your hosts. Licences are delivered as a signed artifact — a block of text issued by Quantix — that you paste into QvDC. Activation works without the appliance having internet access.

Licence states

The Licensing page shows one of these states:

State	Meaning
Commissioning	A fresh installation, before any licence. Allows one host with one socket for 7 days, so you can set up.
Evaluation	A time-limited evaluation licence is active.
Active	A paid licence is active.
Grace	The licence lease has lapsed; you have 14 days to renew with nothing restricted.
Restricted	The licence has ended. Existing VMs keep running; adding capacity is blocked.
Clock suspect	The appliance's clock looks wrong. Fix time synchronisation (Admin Panel → System → Time synchronisation).
Invalid	The imported licence could not be verified. Contact support.

When a licence is restricted, Quantix never powers off or stops your running workloads. It blocks growth only: creating, cloning or importing VMs, adding hosts, and automatic placement.

Prerequisites

• QvDC installed, with administrator access to the Admin Panel.
• A Quantix customer account in the customer portal.

Step 1: create a licence request

1. Go to Admin Panel → System → Licenses.
2. Click Offline request.
3. Choose the Requested action: Start evaluation, Renew paid license or Change host capacity.
4. Click Create request, then Copy request.
5. Send the request to Quantix: open a ticket in the customer portal and paste the request into it.

The request identifies your deployment; it contains no VM or user data.

Step 2: import the signed artifact

When Quantix replies with your signed licence artifact:

1. Go to Admin Panel → System → Licenses and click Import signed artifact.
2. Paste the complete artifact into Signed artifact — everything from the first { to the last }.
3. Click Verify and import.

Expected result

The summary shows the new State (Evaluation or Active), your Plan, and the Next boundary date. Licensed capacity shows the physical hosts and CPU sockets your licence covers, and the detail table shows when the entitlement and lease end.

Renew or change capacity

Leases are renewed periodically. Before the Lease expires date, create an Offline request with Renew paid license and import the artifact you receive, as above. To license more sockets, click Request capacity change under Licensed capacity (or choose Change host capacity in an offline request).

Standalone hosts

A host that is not managed by QvDC carries its own licence: in its Host UI go to Admin Panel → Licenses and use Offline request and Import artifact in the same way. Hosts managed by QvDC are licensed through QvDC.
